Minor Ailments
Since January 2023, Ontario pharmacists have been authorized to prescribe medications for 13 minor ailments, enhancing community-based patient care. The Ontario College of Pharmacists has specified which medications can be prescribed for each condition, aiming to improve access and reduce the strain on hospitals and clinics. Future expansions are planned, with a new list of conditions under consideration by the Ministry of Health for further regulatory development, potentially broadening pharmacists' scope even more.
